Meet Mirka: My Story
I am originally from Slovakia, and I first came to Ireland with one simple goal: to learn English. With very little English at the time, finding work was difficult. My first job was as a cleaner in a care centre, where I quickly discovered the power of presence, listening, and human connection. The residents didn’t care about my broken English, they cared about kindness, a smile, and someone who wanted to listen. That experience shaped me deeply and became the foundation of how I show up for others today.

After working a couple of call centre jobs, I eventually accepted a the role of a Customer Support Agent in a start-up business. This is where my career really took off. I spent the following years working my way up the corporate ladder. After 14 years in various leadership positions, I must confess, the highlights of my career have been the opportunities to give back, and help others achieve their full potential. Eventually, I trained as a Leadership and Executive Coach, which allowed me to focus fully on people development, the work I was most passionate about.

However, a pivotal moment in my life occurred when my son has been diagnosed with ADHD. I dedicated my time and energy to researching all things ADHD. I spent months reading every book I could lay my hands on.
It was during this research phase that I stumbled upon a concept of ADHD coaching as a relatively new approach to managing ADHD. I was intrigued to say the least! This prompted me to into ADDCA program to further explore the world of ADHD coaching. Not only did I gain a deeper understand of my child, I was able to implement practical tools and strategies to help my son overcome challenges and harness his ADHD strengths. That shifted positively our family dynamic.

But it wasn’t always easy. As a parent, I carried thoughts I was ashamed of and guilt I kept hidden. Healing began only when I stopped pushing those feelings down and allowed myself to face them with honesty and compassion. That journey inspired me to write my book, ADHD Behind Closed Doors. I wrote it not because I had all the answers, but because I know what it feels like to question yourself, to wonder if things will ever get better, and to feel completely alone. Sharing our story was my way of saying: you are not alone.
My journey as a parent has taught me that growth doesn’t come from perfection, but from connection, patience, and trust. These lessons shape the way I coach, with empathy, respect, and a deep belief in every person’s potential.

Coaching allows me to walk alongside people as they navigate ADHD, uncover their strengths, and write their own story of growth and possibility.
Above all, I want my clients to know they are not alone.

And beyond my work, I’m simply me, someone who loves connecting with people, hiking, reading, and learning (always learning). I treasure time with my family, and because Irish sunshine is rare, I take every chance I get to travel somewhere warm and soak it in.
